Arts Mansion Openspace
As part of our Openspace programme Artspace Lifespace and The Friends of Ashton Court Mansion are delighted to welcome you to Ashton Court Mansion on the 1st October for a FREE family (and dog) friendly event in the faded glamour of the iconic Grade I listed landmark.
OPENS at 12pm with music from the City of Bristol Pipes and Drums Band.
12pm-5pm: INSIDE THE MANSION
* Exhibition from Arts Mansion resident sculptor Lucianne LaSalle in the Great Hall, West Lawn entrance.
* Exhibition from the Friends of Ashton Court Mansion (FAM) Location: Panelled Lounges, Winter Garden Bar and Inner Hall. (South Lawn Entrance). The theme of this upcoming exhibition is COMMUNITIES AT THE COURT, looking at some of the different groups of people who have lived and worked at the mansion over the centuries.

1pm – 5pm: SOUTH LAWN
* Garden Games
* Hula Hoop Workshops with the Hula Hoop Lady
* Walkabout Circus Performances
* Music & Bar. Bring your own picnic!
* DJs bringing a selection of bouncy beats.
10am, 11am and 3pm; TOURS OF THE DERELICT FIRST FLOOR Entry fee applies and tickets must be pre-booked
From 3pm – 5pm; SCULPTURE TRAIL TOUR. Artspace Lifespace Company Manager will lead you on a tour of the Estate to talk about the sculptures on the estate, our partnership with We are from Dust and our involvement with Ashton Court Mansion since taking on the mansion in 2018.
In the event of rain, workshops and activities will be held in the Music Room (with the exception of the Sculpture Tours).
Pre-booking Sculpture Tour tickets is recommended, Guided Tours of upper floors is essential but entry to the other open day activities does not require booking.
Getting to Ashton Court Mansion, Ashton Court Estate, Long Ashton, Bristol BS41 9JN
Entry is via the South Lawn or West Lawn for Disabled Access.
Getting here by Public Transport: Take the X3 excel or X4 excel bus from the city centre, 10-minute walk from the bus stop to Ashton Court Estate Mansion House car park, or take the 8 to Clifton and walk across the suspension bridge.
Getting here by Car: Nearest Car park is the Kennel Lodge Road Car Park. Charges are £1 for up to 1 hour; £2 for up to 2 hours; £3 for up to 5 hours.

No booking or entry fee is required for ground floor activities.
We recommend booking to participate in (free) sculpture tours.
Dogs on leads are welcome on the ground floor only.
Please note that tickets MUST be pre-booked for the Guided Tours of the derelict 1st Floor and an ENTRY FEE applies. Hard hats must be worn and these upstairs tours are not suitable for children under 7. All proceeds from this tour will be donated by the FAM to Artspace Lifespace. Please note there is disabled and buggy access on the ground floor only.
