Ballet To Not Necessarily Ballet Music

A fun yet rigorous class to all kinds of music – soul, reggae, rock, pop, funk, classical, Latin, Eastern – anything that gets the soul singing while mind and body train. Ideally suited to people who have some previous ballet training but we can simplify and add explanations to exercises to help people coming to the class with less prior experience. Suitable for all aged 16-100.

Anna has trained in classical ballet since the age of 3 with Chelsea Ballet Schools founded by Dorothy Ind, Tokyo International BalletK Ballet and the late Joan Hewson whose lineage of teaching of Cecchetti Method goes back to Cecchetti himself, (who taught for Diaghilev) through Margaret Craske to Ms Saul to Joan herself. Anna has over 15 years teaching experience for all ages.

What to expect from the course:  Expect to improve your strength, fitness, flexibility and posture – some have reported growing an extra centimetre or even two. But above all expect a weekly dose of euphoric high from leaping, and spinning and indulging in some of classical dance’s most lavish movements to all your favourite tunes.

What to bring with you: Ballet shoes (socks will do), comfortable clothes, water is a good idea and willingness to enjoy yourself is a must!

Time: 11 am – 12.30 pm

Level: General (caters for experienced dancers but I do break it down and offer simpler versions when beginners come)
