JOIN OUR BOARD OF TRUSTEES & ADVISORY BOARD
Artspace Lifespace is recruiting new members for our board. You can find out more about the current board here.
The Trustees are responsible for the strategic direction of the charity, agreeing plans and budgets, and holding the Company Manager to account for the delivery of the plans. The Trustees are responsible for ensuring that the organisation operates to standards set by parliament and the Charity Commission. Trustees take ultimate responsibility for the work that the organisation does, and the way in which it spends money raised by the charity through income and donations to achieve its aims. The role of the Trustee is a voluntary role.
We strongly encourage applications from individuals who are underrepresented on our board, including female applicants and those from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Advisory Team
If you aren’t ready to commit to being part of a board, we would welcome you joining us as part of an Advisory Team, to provide independent voluntary advice and support to the charity. Unlike a board of directors, the members of an advisory team are not authorised to act or make binding decisions on behalf of the organisation and they do not have any fiduciary responsibility. The members will provide expert advice, lived experiences and objective advice to the charity, challenging and scrutinising key issues in a supportive way and provide a sounding board to the CEO, Charity Operations Managers and Board of Trustees.
To enquire about becoming a trustee, please email info@artspace.uk with the subject Artspace Lifespace Board Recruitment and feel free to arrange an informal chat to find out more.
VOLUNTEER
Artspace Lifespace welcomes applications from Volunteers.
Artspace Openspace – would you like to be part of our open days at The Island? We welcome applicants from volunteers to invigilate and support our upcoming events. Get in touch with info@theisland.uk to find out more.
Intern opportunities are normally paid and part-funded by Universities. These are ideal for creatives and those wishing to develop a career in the arts and events.
Specific Projects – We encourage individuals interested in specific projects to get hands-on and join us by volunteering and helping support our dynamic and creative artist-led projects. We have a variety of opportunities available throughout the year including volunteering to assist with invigilating at exhibitions, gathering inclusion monitoring data and stewarding at events.
We helped set up the Friends of Ashton Court Mansion in 2019, which is always on the look out for volunteers, particularly those interested in researching building heritage, design or web development to present their findings.
You can sign up as a volunteer by emailing info@artspace.uk and stating what project you are interested in volunteering for or what skills you can offer to help support Artspace Lifespace.
