PIECES OF OURSELVES – HEARING VOICES, 14th – 16th June
Esme Podmore is a visual artist engaging with the notion of evocative objects, described by Sherry Turkle in the subtitle to her 2007 book as ‘the things we think with’ and, she would assert, also the things we remember with. In this pop-up exhibition and artist talk she will explore her journey as an artist as well as the recent integration of her experiences of hearing voices no one else hears with her formal practice of wrapping objects in fabric in efforts to evoke care and memories.
Pop up exhibition: Wednesday 14th 13:00-18:00, Thursday 15th & Friday 16th 10:00-13:30, Free.
Artist talk: Friday 16th 14:00-15:00, Free, booking recommended.
These events are part of artist residency time and support provided by Artspace Lifespace.
